Chung Yuan Christian University's Library and Information Center aims to achieve comprehensive e-services
Supporting teaching development, academic research, and information services
1. Information Management Team
The Information Management Team focuses on promoting information education, enhancing information literacy, supporting internal computer teaching, research, and administrative digitalization. It is committed to quality, providing professional network infrastructure, integrating administrative information systems, and offering high-quality computer equipment that combines technology with everyday life, with an emphasis on efficient, customer-oriented administrative information systems for teaching and research services.
Established in August 1979, the Information Management Team, hereinafter referred to as the "IM Team," initially had only one computer teaching classroom. Through the efforts of the school and the team members, there are now eleven computer classrooms available for use by various departments. Since its inception, the team has actively planned the campus network, connecting to each unit building in a star topology. All computers in the campus units can connect to the internet. The network environment has been upgraded from multimode to single-mode fiber optics, with speeds increased from 100Mb to 1Gb, and future upgrades can be easily enhanced to 10Gb. In the UTP section, Cat.5e cables have been completely replaced with Cat.6, increasing speeds from 100Mb to 1Gb. The goal is to build a comprehensive Giga network for the school.
The IM Team is divided into three business types: Administration, Systems, and Networks. In addition to the team leader and the head of the team, there are approximately three contracted technical staff members. The responsibilities for each business type are as follows:
